Community Treatment Update Portal
Wyoming Positives For Positives is committed to
providing ongoing HIV and health information and education to people living with HIV and
AIDS, health care providers, and others in the service community who strive to meet the
needs of PLWHAs. The Community Treatment Update is an annual project conducted in
collaboration with the International Foundation for Alternative Research in AIDS (IFARA).
It consists of selected interviews with physicians, clinicians, researchers, treatment
activists, people living with HIV or AIDS, and others who work in the fields of
HIV/AIDS care, research or advocacy. The majority of interviews are conducted with
participants at the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections.
Occasional special features also include interviews with other experts working in
community-based HIV services ranging from care and treatment, social support, and
advocacy.
You will also find the gateway to the archives
of the Wyoming Positives For Positives Quarterly Newsletter. The Newsletter ceased
publication in early 2005. Several issues are currently available in the archives. We will
post additional issues whenever possible.
About the Conference on Retroviruses and
Opportunistic Infections (CROI)
CROI is an annual conference sponsored by the
Foundation for Retrovirology and Human Health in scientific collaboration with the
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention. The mission of the conference is to provide a forum for basic scientists and
clinicians to present, discuss, and critique their investigations into the biology and
epidemiology of human retroviruses and the diseases they produce with the ultimate goal of
translating laboratory and clinical research into progress against the AIDS epidemic.
Through an ongoing partnership with the International Foundation for Alternative Research
in AIDS (IFARA), Wyoming Positives For Positives has been able to obtain audio and video
of selected interviews with leading researchers and clinicians attending the conference.
These interviews have been transcribed and are posted to the web with the hope that people
living with HIV and AIDS, and those who provide health and human services, will use the
information to help improve the quality of life for PLWHAs in our global community.
